4,500+ Miles. 49 Days. 28 Runners. 1 Cause.
This blog will cover the story of not just my philanthropic endeavor, but my team’s journey. Over the summer, I plan to highlight the places we travel through, discuss the deeper reasons behind our run, and celebrate the small victories in life.
Personally, this will be an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I expect this experience will change me in ways I have yet to discover. As a healthy individual used to a higher-middle class lifestyle, this summer will present challenges that I hope will transform my perspective on life.
About the run: 2017 is the 16th running of the 4K for Cancer, and the 5th year of the New York Run. 28 college-aged runners (18-25 yrs) embark on a 49-day cross-country run beginning in San Francisco and ending in New York City. The runners seek to inspire hope and unite communities in the fight against cancer. 4K for Cancer is sponsored by the nonprofit organization Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults, whose mission is to create a community of support for young adults, and their loved ones, affected by cancer.
